Equalities Statement & Action Plan
In April 2010 the Westminster Government introduced new equalities legislation (The Equalities Act 2010). This legislation brings the existing legislation together and broadens the scope of equalities duties. The Scottish Government is currently considering specific duties for Scottish public authorities which will be laid before the Scottish Parliament in due course.
We have reviewed the 2010/11 Equalities Statement and accompanying Action Plan to ensure we continue to meet our statutory responsibilities. This Statement sets out what we will do until April 2012.
