Community engagement case studies
The website is building up a database of good-practice case studies. These are practical examples of organisations or techniques which have worked to improve community engagement. To be considered "good practice", a case study must ideally demonstrate a number of different criteria, for example:
• community engagement underpins all elements of the activity of the organisation rather than being a "one-off"
• different types and levels of participation are adopted
• there is evidence of participation by a wide range of community and agency stakeholders
• there is a demonstration of attempts to target "hard to reach" or specific groups
• stakeholders are actively involved in driving and developing the engagement process
• methods of engagement and involvement are responsive to community feedback
We have specific guides for Community Representatives, Community Planning Partners, Community Advisers and Researchers, which select appropriate case studies for those groups.
