National Engagement and Regional Networks
Following substantial consultation with tenants and residents across Scotland we are now in the process of supporting registered tenant organisations (RTOs) to set up a number of Regional Networks. The consultation findings were reported in a Precis and Research Report.
One purpose of the networks is to enable RTO representatives to communicate practically with the Scottish Government on national policy issues. Having this two-way communication will mean that the Scottish Government can easily tap into their knowledge and expertise. Additionally this will mean that RTOs are able to participate and respond to consultation documents circulated by the Scottish Executive in a more effective and uniform way.
Another important aspect of developing the regional networks is linking up RTOs across Scotland in a way where they can share information and advise each other on important issues.
There are now nine regions, each of which are developing their networks.
The regions are currently working on developing a constitution, communications strategy and elections process.
