Silverhills in Rosneath Effective targeting of resources is a key strength of Communities Scotland. The role of our Investment division is to make best use of these resources through planning, investment and community ownership.

We also:

• support local authorities to develop local housing strategies through the preparing housing market context statements and the providing guidance

• provide expert advice on financial aspects of Standard Delivery Plans and business cases for transfer

• administer the Mortgage to Rent scheme which helps people in danger of having their homes repossessed to stay in their homes as tenants of a social landlord

• administer the Shared Equity schemes aimed at helping people on low incomes buy their own home

• Propose introducing the Single Survey and Property Sale Questionnaire for the Scottish housing market in late 2008.
