Learning opportunities

One of the recommendations of our research into the skills and competencies required for community regeneration relates to the importance of raising awareness of available training programmes that link closely to the skills set out in our framework.

We are working in partnership with learndirect Scotland for business to provide improved access to information on learning opportunities to those working in community regeneration.

learndirect Scotland for business guides organisations of all kinds through the maze of training opportunities, helping them get the best from their people at a time when skills gaps are the subject of much concern to employers. learndirect Scotland for business:

• Provides access to expert advisers who will help assess skills needs and identify training solutions

• Sources training to meet business goals and pressures, with an emphasis on short, “bite-size” chunks

• Offers online training that can be done in the workplace, reducing time staff away from the job.

This free advisory service is offered, in partnership with the Scottish Centre for Regeneration to all organisations working in regeneration and the social economy. This is available by calling the national training advice line on 08456 000 111 or by visiting their website at www.lds4b.com.
