REGULATORY ADVISORY NOTE: FINANCIAL RISK AND VIABILITY
The Scottish Housing Regulator has today published a Regulatory Advisory Note on financial risk and viability. The purpose of the advisory note is to highlight some key risks that we see emerging for the sector over the next few years.
We expect that some of these risks will have significant implications for a number of RSLs, and our Advisory Note restates the importance of good forward planning, governance and risk management in the current environment.
The Advisory Note advises all RSLs to give due attention to the emerging issues through their ongoing management of risk and business planning. It draws attention to our letter and report to the sector on financial risk and viability in December 2008 and our guidance on business planning published in October 2009.
